EUGENE, Ore. – The Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) Senior & Disability Services Senior Meals Program greatly needs volunteers.
The Senior Meals Program helps people aged 60 and older maintain their independence by providing food, friendship, and safety checks. We do so by operating 11 Café 60 dining rooms around Lane County, and Meals on Wheels (MOW) which delivers lunches and provides safety checks for our home-bound older neighbors.
Senior & Disability Services needs volunteers in the following ways:
• Portioning meals
• Packing meals
• Delivering meals to participants
We need volunteers throughout Lane County, but especially in downtown Eugene, Springfield, and Creswell. During the summer, our volunteers have other prior commitments, so the more volunteers we have available, the better.
