The Central Lane MPO is the regionwide transportation planning agency that plans for the long-range needs of the area’s transportation system and distributes federal transportation dollars for transportation projects and programs in the Central Lane County area.
The MPO works cooperatively with local governments and transit providers to set priorities for transportation needs. This process enables our area to receive millions of dollars annually in federal transportation funding.

Planning and Coordination Efforts
The Central Lane MPO also engages in statewide transportation planning and coordination efforts to discuss issues of mutual interest. Participation in broader discussions enables the MPO to remain current on issues and trends, to be able to communicate back to local partners, and to ensure that the region's issues are considered in statewide efforts and decision-making.
History of the Central Lane MPO
The Governor designated LCOG as the MPO for this area in 1974. The Central Lane MPO is one of over 420 MPOs across the country and one of eight MPOs in Oregon.
MPO Planning Area
The MPO planning area includes the cities of Eugene, Springfield, and Coburg, and a small area of Lane County adjacent to these urban areas.
