Regional Transportation Plan

The Central Lane MPO adopted the 2049 Regional Transportation Plan on December 4, 2025.

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is the Central Lane area’s long-range transportation planning document that presents the region’s goals for a safe, accessible, and efficient multimodal transportation system for everyone.

The RTP provides strategic direction for meeting the transportation needs of the Central Lane area over at least a 20-year planning horizon while addressing transportation issues and making changes that can contribute to improvements in the region’s quality of life and economic vitality.

The Plan:

  • Considers all transportation modes, including personal vehicle travel, transit, bikeways and pedestrian circulation, as well as freight movement and regional aspects of air, rail and inter-city bus service.
  • Contains transportation policies and investments and is financially constrained to revenues reasonably expected to be available over the planning period.
  • Demonstrates compliance with federal and state air quality requirements.

The RTP is a federally required document that must be updated every four years.
